This project was undertaken for a local guest house with the brief to design and create an interesting feature for the guests to see and enjoy in the garden. Starting in November 2010 I constructed brick paths, circular paving feature and a wood and steel arbour to which I trained 8 Sorbus Aria. I planted the rose garden with around 200 roses chosen from David Austin , which I specifically selected for colour, fragrance, repeat flowering, disease resistance, vigour and general appeal. I planted everything with my own forumla of selected nutrients and fertiliser, the results have been exceptional. If you look at the pictures for 2011 you will see just how good the results were, the roses started blooming in late May and continued to flower until I pruned them in December.
